Description of the innovation projectAugmented ArcheoDrone represents a system developed with the aim to support the fruition of an archaeological site from an aerial perspective, by exploiting UAVs and augmented reality technologies. The user is involved in a real "journey through time" by displaying in real-time on his mobile device the real scenario coming from the camera of the drone "augmented" by means of some contextual information (pics, videos, 3D reconstructions, etc) and giving back an historical vision of the site. In the context here outlined, the application would show its usefulness in archaeological areas open to the public in order to support the user visit through the experience of authorized drone pilots.

Market segmentDirect market includes all public or private owned utilities such as sites of archaeological interest, outdoor museums, etc. Indirect market includes the major consumer drones vendors oriented to mobile devices. The price of the Augmented ArcheoDrone system will be identified based on the specific needs of the customer.
Advantage factorThe market analysis conducted showed that a combined use of UAVs and augmented reality in the archaeological field has not yet produced applications oriented to enhance the user experience in the archaeological heritage fruition. At the moment there aren’t direct competitors that have industrialized and sold software solutions like Augmented ArcheoDrone system.
Commercial challengeIn the context of its direct competitors, the Augmented ArcheoDrone system identifies its commercial challenge in the joint use of UAVs and Augmented Reality for the archaeological fruition enhancement. The possibility of combining the advantages of aerial exploration with the possibilities offered by augmented reality represents a highly qualitative and unique element in the panorama of available solutions. This represents an innovation with respect the existing trading systems.
